November, 2006 $1 a Year Rental San Francisco, CA (HTC-PR) - November 28, 2006 In an effort to aid non-profits whose clients desperately are in need of shelter, CitiApartments, owner and operator of 150 apartment buildings throughout San Francisco, has agreed to donate 3 apartments at a cost of $1/year. The first nonprofits chosen to launch this program were The Raphael House, The Hamilton Family Center and the AIDS Emergency Fund. Following in stride with The Rafael House, CitiApartments and The Hamilton Family Center are expected to complete an agreement on how to provide housing for families in their program. The Hamilton Family Center is a San Francisco-based organization focused on returning families to independent living and assisting families and individuals in maintaining their housing. With this agreement, families from The Hamilton Family Center will pay a portion of their own rent in order to get the families back on track and help build a model for continuing without aide. David Raynal, C.O.O. of CitiApartments said, "I hope that this becomes a new model for giving." Benefit magazine will be the nexus of this program and will be searching for different companies who are interested in donating furnishings and other services. If you would like to contribute please call 415.433.2345 or email mailto:citiwatch@benefitmagazinesf.com.
